Do you know any famous contemporary/pop/surreal artists?

Basically, I have to do some research on any one artist. Indian artists would be great. I was going to do Salvador Dali but there's too much information. Anyone interesting is good. My teacher wanted me to research on Indian artists so that would be best. Thanks!
