Did you actually look into where the money came from that these banks have paid back? Let me enlighten you okay. You see the original money came from the treasury, and as you correctly stated was paid back to the treasury. Seems good, at first glance would cost the taxpayer nothing. Not quite so fast. Do you know what the catch is? Of course not, because libs never go beyond shallow rhetoric and half baked truths. The money came from the fed reserve, the banks used the fed to generate the funds needed to pay back the treasury. It was not their money, it was our money. They simply played a shell game and shifted the money from A to B. And do you know why Obama is allowing this farce? Because all this "paid bacK" TARP money is now his walking around money. He is not using it to pay back the money taken from the treasury originally, he is keeping that on the tab. He will use this money to fund more union friendly "jobs" and bloat his false statistics about job creation. Obama is a joke, but a bad joke on the taxpayer.
