Strange lights in night sky November 2010?

The night of November 14th I was driving down I-395 in Alexandria, Va and saw a bright green light zoom across the sky. It was too fast to be an airplane and it completely disappeared in the sky like a comet or a meteor. That's what I saw. I have no clue what it could've been because I've never seen anything like it. It almost almost reminded me of fireworks but it traveled a great distance and there was no explosion or sound. Is this the same thing you were talking about? Also my object didn't have a red light.
